What is Commune Club?
Comme Club is for people who are curious about living in a community.

Our socials help you find people who
-
are curious and want to know more
-
ready to move into their first community (or convert their existing house-share into one)
-
already living in community and want to compare notes or share wisdom
-
want to meet people to create a new community together with a new vision
Communities comes in all shapes and sizes; they have different priorities, values and set-ups. It's not one size fits all. Whether you want to live in a stylish London flat, create deeper networks in your estate or work the land without a bar of reception in sight, Commune Club helps you meet like-minded people for whatever stage you're at.
Is Commune Club for me?
The UK doesn't have many designed spaces for communal living (see our Built Environment projects) and those which are already set up have long waiting lists it, can be hard to go from 'hey that's kinda interesting' to 'let's do this!'.

The aim of our gatherings is to fill in the steps in-between. We help you connect with the knowledge, understand what's important to you and meet people who desire a similar set up to you.

I don't know anything about 'intentional living'

If you're brand new to the idea you might not know if it's for you. You might not know your co-living from your co-op, your consensus based model from your do-ocracy,
We're building a knowledge space here and that's a great space to start - but nothing beats meeting up in person and talking about it. Feeling that buzz of inspiration as you hear other people's thoughts and opinions. We help you find people you resonate with, who are as excited about this as you are - especially if you've felt a bit lonely in your dreams for an alternative future.

You might have nothing in the bank or you might have a significant buy-in - the good news is that community living doesn't require money or property (but it can have both), the only thing it requires is people interested in working together to create something more than a house share of convenience. You just have to find the right people.

So why don't you pop along?
We know it can be nerve-wracking for some coming along on your own so we have a sign so you know where we are in the venue easily, greeters to come say hi to those who find mingling a little hard, and you can send an email letting us know you're coming along and we can keep an eye out for you so you get a warm welcome when you arrive.
Other than that, it's just people in a space having a chat. Which, it turns out, is pretty powerful stuff. It's the stuff alternative ways of being are made of.

I already live in a community - or used to
Help us avoid reinventing the wheel. This isn't a new idea and we know there's a wealth of knowledge out there. Living communally isn't inherently a public act as we all just want to get on with living our lives, but that's why Commune Club exists. To help share the knowledge, point out the pitfalls, think about things we might not have considered.

Meet others who live in different set ups and compare notes. Inspire others who are at the beginning of their journey, chill out and talk about cats among people who were where you were at not so long ago.

If you're interested in being part of an informal Q&A or a more structured knowledge sharing activity, do get in touch.
