Volunteer Roles

We have a big vision which we currently deliver around full on workloads. If you want to be part of an exciting small team, you can get involved in the following ways.

We welcome people without professional experience and every role can be adapted to suit current skill level if you have the time to commit required for the role and are comfortable with taking on the responsibility.

Current Roles

Skills not listed below but think you have something to offer? Apply anyway!

Visuals - Graphic Design/Web design/Brand designer

We can crush a template and have the necessary branding docs and image library from our projects, but we lack skills in tying all this together and communicating this visually.

We need:

  • a brand kit, including logo, font, colour pallete

  • bird images - we have a theme - and we use birds as codenames for our residential projects, but the wix and unsplash image library only go so far.

We'd like to develop a unifying visual brand for our current and assumed future needs, and implement these across our wix site.

Researcher

Our landscape is coliving in the UK. Our vision is to create a resource of all the books, websites organisations, academics and related movements that people who are interested in coliving at any level might find useful.

The role will be online research and maintaining the online repository.

This can also expand into deeper work which evaluates the legal, social and demographic structures related to coliving.

Blog writer / Copy writer

Working with Camilla (and the community if you wish) developing and expanding our blog strategy, interviewing, researching and communicating effectively in words the vision and progress.

Also, improving the writing of others and ensuring a consistent brand voice across marketing materials.

Interviewer/Video producer

Text is not everyone's favourite medium. Help us reach more diverse audiences by creating video content with the team, and/or based off our blog.

Branch Leads - Commune Club

Do you like people?

Are you skilled in creating a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment for strangers?

Are you passionate about increasing awareness of coliving in your area?

Commune Club is expanding from it's humble pre-covid London gatherings into a nationwide network of socials.

These can be held in cafes, pubs, village halls and living rooms. Each month there will be a central theme which can serve as an ice-breaker but is essentially a place for people to come together and meet likeminded people, share resources and ignite their passion for coliving - sharing knowledge if they have experience, finding potential living partners and available communities to just soaking it in and realising that there's more interested people out there than previously thought.

The role requires finding a suitable venue, promoting the event locally online and in-person if applicable, hosting, managing greeters if appropriate, and leading conflict management should any arise.

Full support and training can be provided, as well as being part of a network of other leads and co-leads nationally.

Branch Co-Lead - Commune Club

Co-leads support Branch leads to organise socials, respond to messages, liaise with venues and be a greeter for people who turn up alone. Complimenting the skills of the Lead, co-leads are the backbone of events and can also step in to keep the event running in case of sickness or conflicting personal commitments of the lead.

Some branches may wish to only have co-leads without a hierarchy where tasks are shared based on skillset and/or time available.
